Mobile Wireless Data Acquisition Node
Mobile WiDAQ The Mobile Wireless Data Acquisition Node (WiDAQ) is a high precision measurement device designed for distributed remote sensor data acquisition. The built-in 24-bit A/D converter and low noise high precision measurement circuitry facilitates data acquisition from a wide variety of sensors.
The Mobile WiDAQ communicates directly to the SMT Building Intelligence gateway or via a CAN coordinator when used in a hybrid wireless/wired configuration. This configuration offers several benefits over a wireless only system as wired nodes act as coordinators for wireless nodes allowing Mobile WiDAQs to conserve battery power.
Industrial Wireless Data Acquisition Node
Industrial WiDAQ
The Industrial Wireless Data Acquisition Node (WiDAQ) is a high precision measurement device designed for distributed remote sensor data acquisition. The built-in 24-bit A/D converter and low noise high precision measurement circuitry facilitates data acquisition from a wide variety of precision sensors used in Building Science research.
The Industrial WiDAQ has the ability to communicate both wireless and wired to the SMT Building intelligence gateway. When wired, the Industrial WiDAQ can serve as a CAN coordinator for other wireless WiDAQs. This configuration offers several benefits over a wireless only system as wired nodes act as coordinators for remote nodes resulting in increased battery life and facilitates wireless deployment in areas where wireless communication is not sustainable. The wired backbone operates over the industry standard Controller Area Network (CAN) permitting dense sensor deployments in harsh environments.
Wireless Data Acquisition Unit - Pressure
| Overview | Performance | Mounting | Connectivity |
The Wireless Data Acquisition Unit (WiDAQ) Pressure version delivers high precision measurements using its 24-bit A/D converter and low noise high precision measurement circuitry. This device can accurately measure external sensors based on resistance and voltage as well as differential pressure using an onboard pressure sensor.
Building Inteligence Gateway
| Overview | Specifications | Software Configuration |
The Building Inteligence Gateway - nicknamed "BIG" is the central on-site monitoring device used to configure and view all WiDAQ data locally. The BIG also transports your data off-site to the SMT Monitoring Centre by 802.11, RJ-45 ethernet or through the celluar network by GSM/GPRS or CDMA. Remote wireless sensor configuration has never been easier - all with familar Windows software.

Moisture Detection Sensor (MDS)
| Overview | Specifications | Moisture Content Notes |
TapeMoisture Detection Sensor (MDS) is a water sensing device placed in areas prone to water intrusion. It serves as the point of contact in the system to detect water or high moisture penetration.
Point Moisture Measurement (PMM)
For direct contact measurement of moisture content in wood or moisture level in gypsum, concrete or masonry. Use of isolated probes ensure the measurement of the moisture level at the desired layer in the wood or substrate. The PMM has a built in temperature sensor for temperature correction of moisture content readings.
Duff Moisture Measurement (DMM)
For indirect measurements of moisture content in gypsum, concrete, masonry or similar substrates. Calibrated moisture blocks with known moisture related characteristics can be embedded in order to obtain the relative moisture content of the surrounding area through capillary absorption.
